Among the several hundred submissions for the National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC) Conference this year, 2 proposals by McBride students were accepted. McBriders Chelsea Meilner and Madison Anderson conducted an engaging workshop on the interconnectivity of arts and STEM disciplines. And, Catherine Gable and Wyatt Hinkle provided a poster presentation entitled “Addressing Student Reality: The Effects of Campus Culture on Student Wellness”for which they won 3rd place! They conducted surveys across Mines campus investigating links between perceptions of campus culture and the prevalence of impostor syndrome in our student body. They found that characteristics of impostor syndrome are indeed heavily reflected in Mines students and correlated to pressures to maintain a high GPA and immediately embark upon a career path.
